1. Introduction

Grant Clarity ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. Please read this policy carefully. By using Grant Clarity, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us and information that is collected automatically when you use the Service.

Information you provide:

  • Grant text: the grant descriptions you paste into the interpreter for analysis
  • Organization profile: information about your nonprofit organization that you voluntarily provide
  • Payment information: billing details processed securely through Stripe (we do not store your full credit card number)

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage data: how you interact with the Service, including features used and pages visited
  • Device information: browser type, operating system, and general location
  • Cookies and similar technologies: used to maintain your session and preferences

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process grant text through our AI to generate interpretations and summaries
  • Store your analysis history (for Pro subscribers) so you can revisit past results
  • Process payments and manage your subscription
  • Send you service-related communications
  • Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve the Service
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse

4. AI Processing of Grant Text

When you submit grant text for analysis, it is processed by our AI system to generate your Grant Clarity Report. For Pro subscribers, the submitted text and resulting analysis are stored in your account for future reference. We do not use the specific grant text you submit to train or improve AI models. The text is processed solely for the purpose of providing you with the requested analysis.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: We use third-party services (such as Stripe for payment processing and cloud hosting providers) that may access your data to perform services on our behalf
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, or legal process
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction
  • With your consent: We may share your information for any other purpose with your explicit consent

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Analysis history for Pro subscribers is retained until you delete it or close your account. If you cancel your subscription, your stored analyses will be retained for 30 days before being permanently deleted. You can delete individual analyses at any time from the Recent Analyses page.
